Holiday Update

Oh the weather outside is frightful...... I have never been good at singing so I will stop right there. We wish all our family and friends a Merry Christmas and Happy and blessed New Year.

Speaking of blessings we look so much forward to seeing our baby girl in 2009. For one it’s an extra tax deduction; you can never have enough of them. All kidding aside Tina is now in her 22 week. WOW!

Just last night when we got in bed and all set Tina said “ok, you can go to sleep now.” I was taken back by this, I mean after all I had not yet given her royal highness her back rub yet. Turns out our Olivia was not ready for bed. And YES Tina got her back rub.

Our Christmas wish has already been granted. I can not think of any better wish. Both Tina and I hope that all your Christmas wishes come true too.

Please feel free to leave a comment. We love to read them and very much look forward to them.

Notes from the father to be

Well the last few post have been from Tina so I thought I would post one today. We received confirmation from another Ultrasound tech that our baby is a girl. This is indeed earth shattering news. Let me give you some background on my side of the family. My brother has 3 boys. I have four cousins with a total of 8 boys and 1 girl. So as a family we have 11 boys and 1 girl. Our daughter will be girl #2.

The numbers are in the guys favor, but come April I will be out numbered in my house. Tina's dad had a saying that "it takes a real man to have a girl." I am not sure I am any more a man then my father, my brother or anyone else in my family, but I can humbly say that I am Olivia's daddy and she will be my little girl.

Our next big to do will be a fetal echocardiogram which we will have done in early January by a Riley Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cardiologist. This is the last major test that we will have done. The reason for this test is due to our age and is a normal test ran on babies with old farts for parents. We were able to see the 4 chambers of Olivia’s heart as part of the December 1 ultrasound and everything looked good. The Riley Doc will be able to look at the valves to make sure there are no defects. I marvel at the technology that allows us to see this.

As we approach the Christmas season let me just take this time to say GO NAVY BEAT ARMY. Please keep our service men and women in your thoughts and prayers.

Boy or Girl????

Well, today was our visit to the high risk doctor to do another screening. Patrick and I are so very excited to tell you that the exam did not show any visible birth defects! Thank God! As you can see in this profile shot, our little one continues to grow and is about 10oz and is in the 69% in growth, looks like SHE is going to be tall like her daddy. Oh wait, did I say, "She?" Yes, but... Daddy has the perfect way to say this, she was very lady like and kept her legs together...a little too much. The ultrasound tech is fairly confident from what view she did get that this little one is a girl, but no guarantees. There wasn't anything 'hanging down' and we did see three little lines, which indicate a girl. We have another scan Wednesday at our normal OB, maybe that will confirm. If not, we'll just say it's a girl until we see differently! Doesn't matter if it is a girl or a boy, we will love this baby with everything we have in us! We just know that we are so blessed and thankful for the healthy report we were given, what more could we ask for?

We hope the Thanksgiving holiday found you all happy and healthy. Most of you know that my uncle Bob and Patrick's grandfather both passed right before the holiday, thank you all for your prayers and support during this time. I have a feeling that this baby has two new Angels in heaven watching over it! More to come on Wednesday...have a great week!
