Our little 'Freaky Face'

We have finally crossed a significant milestone, we are officially 14 weeks! Thank you God! This picture was actually taken at 12 weeks and you can see the profile, and yes, the mouth is open! I affectionately call this our little 'freaky face.' Daddy doesn't care for that name, but look...it is! I've never been more proud though. This picture was very important, along with blood work it was the first of three screenings for genetic disorders and neural tubal defects. Since I'm 'old' and way too 'sweet', we are at a higher risk for both. First round of testing, Baby Carter passed! The second round comes in late November/early December...keep praying for good news! The next Dr. appointment isn't until next week, 11/6...we'll keep you posted! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, we can't tell you how much we appreciate them!

Just Chillin Mom and Dad

Our baby will have a full photo album before birth at the rate we are having Ultrasounds. Yes I have checked and there is no danger to Tina or the baby to have Ultrasounds done. This is one
of my favorite pictures. Here you see Baby Carter all snuggled up in their Sac. You can see both hands but you can see the lower left arm, elbow, and upper left arm.

The Ultrasound Tech was able to see the kidneys and bladder. Baby had a full bladder and both kidneys were working. We were also able to see the baby move and arch their back.

To me when I see the baby floating around in the Sac I thinks of astronauts. Like He or She is floating around in their own little space capsule.

I can not wait until the day we get to welcome this new life into our arms. But I need to let you all in on a secret. I am 38 years old and I have never EVER changed a diaper. How can this be? Call it luck or just not being in the wrong place at the wrong time but I never have. I can close once. I am a boy scout at heart however. And as such I have bought a book that teaches you how to make a diaper out of a towel, a sock and duct tape.

Letting you in on our secret

What have we been up too? Well it is time to tell. We have been working with our doctor again and had more success. This Ultrasound was taken at 8 weeks. The most important part of this Ultrasound was to see the heart beat. The first thing we saw was this heart shapes Sac. In the upper left of the heart shaped sack you can see our baby and the tears began to flow as the doctor showed us the flutter of the the baby's heart. We were so very happy; one more hurdle jumped.

Miracles do happen and I will tell you this. Seeing the beating heart of our baby at 8 weeks is a moment I will never forget. This whole process has been hard on both of us, but I will never ever have to question Tina's love for me or our baby. What she has gone threw both physically and mentally are testaments to her strength, desire and faith.
